The Guardian is just informing that Olympics will get a YouTube channel coverage. This makes me slightly confused - maybe I am just grumpy today and didn't have enough coffee, but...can we please give Chinese audience full access to YouTube service instead?
Update: here we go, US reacts differently this time? hm...

Most of the Chinese sites that run mirrors of these popular English language sites are still going to be blocked.
I know that is true of the Chinese wikipedia page.
This is so unfair!!!, and I really hope at least the Olympics (even thought the thought of it happening in China is strange) will bring few minor changes..:/ Let's see...Apologies for my skeptical tome today...
The Olympics are seen by Beijing as an opportunity to present itself in a good light to the rest of the world. Anything that shows some of the reality behind this has the ability to help improve the conditions and bring more openness and reform to China, so the Olympics can be a great catalyst for the better by allowing the truth to be presented to more people worldwide.
The IOC has a great influence on this as well...
I think you are right, trailman. The more coverage the country gets, the better. It's interesting to see how sponsorships and technology increase the chance to talk about the local issues.
